Pomegrenate -mint lemonade

Lemonade was the official summer cooler of the 90's. In fact sugar syrup was made and stored in the refrigerator to keep it handy to serve the impromptu guests. Thanks to the invasion of Rasna and Roohafza lemonade was replaced from the aisles of the  Indian refrigerator.

With fusion cooking in swing, again lemonade has found its lost glory in the form of fusion drinks. Here is my take on the evergreen lemonade  by adding colour and a bit of extra flavour from mint.Mint gives a refreshing taste to the tangy -sweet lemonade .Pomegranate drapes the colourless lemonade in  red colour making it much romantic.

With weather shifting the gear towards summer all you need is a tall glass of this pomegranate lemonade to survive this weather.Gosh!!! with summer turning up so quickly I shall need this all through out 6-7 months.Yup!!! the forecast for  Summer 2016 is sooo looong!!!

 Recipe for the pomegranate lemonade

  • 1/2 -lime(with skin)

  • ice cubes(optional)

Procedure

  • To a beaker or a sturdy bowl add all ingredients except sugar and water .

  • Add water and strain it .
  • Now add sugar ,ice cubes and stir it .
  • Your pomegranate lemonade is ready .

Notes

  • We are not using any blender as the seeds if ground will effect the colour.
  • Lime is used with skin as it releases essential oils on crushing and imparts freshness to the drink
