Double chocolate chip cookies

Thick fudgy double chocolate chip cookies 🍪  -what dreams are made of.Soft chewy ,fudgy, chocolaty cookies with a glass of milk,I can even skip my meals for the love of it ...shhh!! .Is there any one who doesn't like chocolate ? yup ! I know one ,and it is none other than my mom😉.She hates chocolate to the core.Mom doesn't like chocolate in  any form pastries ,ice cream ,chocolate(bar). The one and only chocolate she loves in the world is  Bounty. Why???As it has coconut in it ...Hehehe see south Indian genes of course .Any thing for the love of coconut even a chocolate. If not bounty then it has to be Rafaello chocolate. The other extreme is my kids, who never approve of any thing unless it has chocolate in it 😂.Starting from chocos to the milk they have every thing chocolate flavour🍫.

chocolate cake with mirror glaze |party cake

This weekend perk up your dinner table for get together with a stunning as well as a delightful, moist ,decadent chocolate sponge cake layered with coffee whipped cream and wrapped with  a generous coat of chocolate mirror glaze. This cake is literally easy to whip up and equally delicious to devour .the chocolaty goodness is well paired with the subtle bitterness of coffee whipped cream ..

If your are a fitness freak and are keeping yourself at bay- let me enlighten you, the chocolate cake is a pure butter free cake with minimal oil,and for the calories gained from whipped cream and chocolate glaze and extra hour on the tread mill will compensate the gain in calories. After all festive season is all about food  and friends . So gear up to an over load of yumminess .

Choco-paneer truffles

As soon as you as you read the name of the recipe you might be thinking Paneer(cottage cheese) and truffles!!!!.We all have tasted various savoury variations of paneer ,but this time I wanted to have some thing different may be this is the effect of watching master chef .....:)

My kids love truffles ,I think every one loves truffles ,the smooth melt in the mouth truffles are hard to resist with one .S was saying "Mom you haven't made truffles since long time ,please mom, make some this weekend."If a pickey eater demands some thing ,then  the demand must be met immediately right!!  ....right .

Since last week they had been on sweets in some or the other way .As they are in the exam mode I wanted some thing healthy and nourishing and they should never miss the taste of truffles ..:).After thinking of so many variations  ,finally jumped to the conclusion that this time I am going to try with paneer .This idea was inspired by the show band -baaja-buffet on food food channel.Paneer with nuts was served with chocolate fondue to the baaratis on the menu .

For this recipe home made paneer(cottage cheese) works better in fact I must say best ,As we have to incorporate the nuts in it ,store bought paneer is highly not recommended  in it .It stayed well in the fridge for 5 days may be it would stay more.... but it was clean bowled .I did not reveal the contents of the truffle  ,and kept them guessing ....Every one mistook it to chocolate .....!!!!

So go ahead and make the truffle with a Desi twist .............

Marble cake (eggless)

My daughter S was having their fun day at school and she wanted me to bake a cake to share with her class mates .While I was deciding on what to bake ,soon I realised that I was running short of eggs and it was too early in the morning for the shops to open .Rather than that I was feeling lazy to step out of the house and ferry my self eggs .

Suddenly my eyes fell on the yogurt lying in the fridge and........  what else? I decided to bake an egg less cake. A plain vanilla cake would be boring for the kids ,and for  a complete chocolate cake i was not confident of the egg less version . I had tried vanilla cake and loved the texture and taste of it ,but was sceptical with chocolate ..Finally decided that I will go with a marble cake.It came out so perfect that no one could figure it out that it was an egg less cake

Lets  start baking ........
